The Story Behind The Album

In the late 1990s my Yantra teacher Harish Johari introduced me to the Planetary Yantras, the Planetary Mantras and the power of the gemstones that accompany each Planet. When he left this mortal plane, I felt a strong motivation to share the Art of Yantra Painting — and in so doing, I would impart the Mantra to be invoked with the Yantra to my students.

By 2023, I could not keep up with the one-to-one request for Mantras. After leaving countless voice notes on my students’ phones, I decided it was time to put the Mantras in one place, available to everyone.

Laura Rose Anderson of the Vocal Sanctuary in San Diego, and her husband TJ Moss, planted the seed for this album, Celestial Healing. The idea had a fairly long gestation period, and in the Summer of 2025, the Mantras were ready to be sounded out — this time into an expensive microphone in my closet in the rural South West of England — before being sent to the Nile St. Studios in California for the artists’ and engineer’s touch.

The Planetary Mantras are here as medicine, not simply as music. I felt into the singers I know who have a strong relationship to specific planets, and called upon Astrud Castillo, Mari Rybchynska and Laura Rose Anderson to each be featured on three tracks.

△ Astrud reflects the light of the Sun and the Moon, and takes us deeply into Ketu’s mystery, alongside a guest appearance by TJ Moss. Astrud recorded her tracks at the Nile St. Studio.

△ Mari brings a dynamic, independent presence — conjuring the Martian, Rahuvian and Jupiterian choral energies. Mari’s tracks were recorded in her studio in Kyiv, Ukraine.

△ Laura Rose Anderson — without whom this project would never have been born — romances you with her Venus touches, her Mercurial play and her reverence for Saturn, which also features TJ Moss. Laura Rose recorded her vocals at the Nile St. Studio.

TJ, Laura Rose and I worked together on the compositions to bring you the purest feeling for each of the grahas or Planetary Forces. This has been further deepened by the Hertz Frequencies that correspond with each planet. After discovering the work of Hans Cousto (The Cosmic Octave: Origin of Harmony: Planets — Tones — Colors), we aligned each Mantra track with the harmonic concert pitch as laid out in his research. Cousto’s astronomically based calculations confirm the tones intuitively used by ancient cultures for each of the planets — bridging science and the sacred.
