Chinnamasta Yantra Print
INTUITION. Are you ready to hear the truth? The Goddess of Intuition — Chinnamasta — cuts off the extraneous chatter of the mind and senses. The faculty of intuition, the all-seeing third eye, harnesses its full power as the gates of higher consciousness are opened.
CHINNAMASTA MANTRA
HOOM
Pronounced HOOM
The Goddess Chinnamasta is the sixth Mahavidya, the Great Wisdom Goddess of intuition and divine light. She symbolizes our connection to the eternal. The flash of divine light emanates from her — something you may feel as a spark of intuition or insight when you step out of your mind for a moment. This energy is located in the third eye and is a point of union between the functions of the physical body and direct connection with spirit.
In her figurative image, Chinnamasta has severed her own head, which she holds in one hand, a weapon in the other. This represents the cutting away from our limited, chattering mind and our identification with the ego — the act that allows for a deep connection to higher states of consciousness. Three spurts of blood rise through her body, representing the Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna — the three principal energy channels — looping through the sky from her neck. One stream feeds her own self; the other two feed her two female attendants. She nourishes all three aspects of herself with her wisdom and generosity.
If you ever feel like getting out of your head, call on Chinnamasta. Whatever puzzle you find yourself in on the spiritual path, she will help you move beyond your conditioning and beyond habitual thinking to a place of freedom and understanding. There is a quality of fearlessness evoked here — the divine feminine as shameless intuition and brilliance. Working with her Yantra and Mantra awakens this insight within you, overcoming the conditions that have left you in the dark and revealing the passage of light available to you at this time. Jai Ma!
